Hey everyone! I'm from Bloor West Village and I just brought home my first bird ever — a Amazon parrot named Peaches. I'm equal parts excited and terrified. Been reading everything I can find online but there's so much conflicting info. Any beginner tips from experienced owners would be amazing! Looking forward to being part of this community.

My Luna went through a phase like this around 10 years. I was terrified but it passed. Birds are weird sometimes lol.

I switched to TOP's pellets last year and haven't looked back. My Senegal parrot's feathers have never looked better.

I got mine from Ren's Pets in Kitchener. Great selection and the staff actually knows about birds.

Totally agree with this! My Senegal parrot is exactly the same way.

Welcome to the club! My parrotlet trained ME in the first week. They're way smarter than they let on.

One thing that really helped was introducing new foods by eating them in front of the bird — monkey see monkey do. Give it a try — can't hurt!

My canary did this too! Turned out it was because of hormonal season — spring is brutal. Once I addressed that, everything went back to normal.
