I switched to Goldenfeast last year and haven't looked back. My Senegal parrot's feathers have never looked better.
I've tried a bunch of brands and Harrison's pellets is hands down the best value. My Captain devours it.
Exactly my thoughts. You said it better than I could have.
Just wanted to come back and say the advice in this thread WORKED. My budgie finally stopped being hormonal and aggressive after I tried introducing new foods by eating them in front of the bird β monkey see monkey do.
Absolutely love hearing success stories! This gives me so much hope for me and Pistachio. Thank you for sharing!
Don't worry, this is super common with green cheek conure. You're doing great!
My green cheek conure just figured out how to open their cage latch. I'm both impressed and terrified. What's the smartest thing your bird has done? I swear they understand way more than we think.
I switched to HARI Prime last year and haven't looked back. My Indian Ringneck's feathers have never looked better.
Hey welcome! You'll love this community. Feel free to ask anything, everyone here is super helpful!
LOVE this post! More of this energy please. The bird community needs more positive threads like this.
I see SO many posts about how caique are difficult birds. Honestly? After owning one for 10 years, I think they're one of the more manageable parrots IF you put in the time upfront. The key is consistency. Am I completely wrong? Fight me.
This reminds me of when I first got Peaches. I was so overwhelmed but looking back, those early days were actually really special. The bond building phase is tough but beautiful.
It's been raining for days in Oakville and my Quaker parrot is losing their mind from boredom. We've done every foraging toy, training session, and YouTube video in the playbook. What do you do on endless grey days to keep your bird entertained? I'm running out of ideas and Tango is about to redecorate my walls.
I respectfully disagree. I think it depends heavily on the individual bird. My Captain is the total opposite.
Hello! Been lurking on this forum for a bit and finally decided to make an account and participate. I've had my Senegal parrot Zazu for about 3 years now. Always nice to connect with other bird people in the GTA β most people I know think I'm crazy for having a bird lol. Excited to be here!
100% this. Wish I'd known this when I first got my bird.
I remember when my lineolated parakeet went through this phase. I was so worried but my vet said it's actually really common.
I went through this exact thing with my sun conure Tango! It lasted about about a month and then resolved on its own. Hang in there.
Is this a new behavior or has it always been like this? Context might help figure it out.
Have you tried using a shower perch so they can bathe with warm mist? That's what solved this issue for us. Game changer honestly.
