Hi all! I just adopted a African Grey and I'm already head over heels but also completely overwhelmed. So many questions: what pellets do you recommend? How do I know if they're sick? Is it normal for them to sneeze? How do I get them to trust me? I've been googling non-stop but real owner experiences are worth way more. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I switched to Harrison's pellets last year and haven't looked back. My Eclectus's feathers have never looked better.

I'd suggest trying getting a kitchen scale and weighing them weekly to track health. My avian vet recommended it and it made a huge difference.

Oh man, this brings back memories. When we were dealing with this with Echo, I thought we'd never get through it. Now it's just a funny memory. It gets better, I promise.

I remember when my Pionus went through this phase. I was so worried but my vet said it's actually really common.

Have you tried using a stainless steel cage with proper bar spacing for the species? That's what solved this issue for us. Game changer honestly.

LOVE this post! More of this energy please. The bird community needs more positive threads like this.

This is peak caique behavior honestly. They wake up and choose chaos every single day and we love them for it.
