Cage size debate — what's truly 'big enough'?
Minimum cage sizes for Eclectus vary wildly depending on who you ask. Some people say flight cages are the only ethical option, others say a smaller cage with lots of out-time is fine. What cage do you use and are you happy with it?
So I had this exact problem about a year ago. Let me share what I learned. The key thing is playing music during the day — my bird loves calm acoustic guitar. A lot of people also recommend switching to a natural cleaning spray like F10. My avian vet in Scarborough also suggested checking for boredom from lack of enrichment and mental stimulation which can sometimes be an underlying factor. Good luck — feel free to DM me if you have questions!
Couldn't agree more. This has been my experience as well.
This!! So much this. Saving this post to show my partner.
Yes!! My Coco does this too. Hahn's macaw owners can relate.
I actually disagree with this. In my experience with my African Grey, the opposite was true. But I know every bird is different.
What worked for me was covering the cage partially at night for 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Took about a week but my budgie responded really well to it.
I went through this exact thing with my lovebird Echo! It lasted about a couple weeks and then resolved on its own. Hang in there.
When I had to travel, I used Bird Sitting Toronto and they were incredible with my Quaker parrot. Daily updates with photos and everything.
For this I'd highly recommend Harrison's pellets. My parrotlet loves it and my vet approved it too.

Interesting take! I see your point but I've had a completely different experience. My blue and gold macaw actually...
