The face my lovebird makes when I say 'no'
You know the look — head tilted, one eye pinning, feathers slightly puffed, absolute ATTITUDE. Rio gives me this face every time I say no to a third almond. I swear they understand the word and choose to be offended by it. Does your bird give you the look too?
What worked for me was getting a kitchen scale and weighing them weekly to track health. Took about a week but my canary responded really well to it.
This reminds me of when I first got Sunny. I was so overwhelmed but looking back, those early days were actually really special. The bond building phase is tough but beautiful.
For this I'd highly recommend HARI Prime. My green cheek conure loves it and my vet approved it too.
Absolutely love hearing success stories! This gives me so much hope for me and Captain. Thank you for sharing!
I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to dry winter air from forced-air heating.
I could have written this post a year ago. Same situation, same frustration. Here's what I wish someone had told me: adding a full-spectrum Arcadia UV light near the cage. Would have saved me weeks of stress.
I have a similar story. My green cheek conure used to do the exact same thing. I remember being SO frustrated until one day it just clicked. Patience is truly the key with birds.
