My Echo went through a phase like this around 18 months. I was terrified but it passed. Birds are weird sometimes lol.
I switched to Hagen Tropican last year and haven't looked back. My canary's feathers have never looked better.
If you're near Brampton, PetSmart on Queen St actually has a decent bird section. Better than most locations.
Same here! Glad it's not just me lol.
When I had to travel, I used Bird Sitting Toronto and they were incredible with my blue and gold macaw. Daily updates with photos and everything.
Every morning in our High Park apartment: alarm goes off, Storm starts singing. I open the cage, they fly to my shoulder. I try to make coffee, they try to steal my spoon. I eat breakfast, they eat my breakfast. I attempt to work, they sit on my keyboard. Wouldn't trade it for anything. What's YOUR morning like with your bird?
My Jasper read this post over my shoulder and started nodding. I'm only slightly concerned.
Just wanted to come back and say the advice in this thread WORKED. My lovebird finally stopped night frights every few days after I tried switching to stainless steel water bowls and changing water twice daily.
Second vote for BST. They boarded my Senegal parrot last summer and I could tell Peaches was well cared for when I picked them up. Total peace of mind.
So what I ended up doing was introducing new foods by eating them in front of the bird β monkey see monkey do. Within a few days there was a noticeable improvement. Definitely worth trying.
