Switched from Harrison's to Roudybush about a month ago. Here's my honest take: my Indian Ringneck likes the taste way more (actually eats it willingly vs throwing it on the floor). Consistency of droppings improved. Feather quality seems about the same. Price is comparable. Overall I'd give it a solid 8/10. Anyone else tried this brand?

Oh my bird did this for about two to three weeks and I tried everything. Honestly, time was the biggest factor. They just grew out of it.

Just wanted to say thank you. When I first got my canary, I was SO overwhelmed and this forum was a lifeline. The advice, the support, the people who told me it gets better — you were right. Captain and I are thriving now. This community is genuinely wonderful.

This reminds me of when I first got Noodle. I was so overwhelmed but looking back, those early days were actually really special. The bond building phase is tough but beautiful.

So I had this exact problem about a year ago. Let me share what I learned. The key thing is offering chop first thing in the morning when they're hungriest. A lot of people also recommend giving warm food (like a warmed mash) on cold Toronto mornings. My avian vet in North York also suggested checking for molting — they get uncomfortable and cranky which can sometimes be an underlying factor. Good luck — feel free to DM me if you have questions!

Did this start suddenly or was it gradual? When my parrotlet did this it turned out to be not enough quality sleep — they need 10-12 hours uninterrupted.

My green cheek conure did this too! Turned out it was because of the cage being in a high-traffic or drafty location. Once I addressed that, everything went back to normal.

How old is your bird? That might explain it — my lineolated parakeet went through something similar around 15 years.

I switched to Roudybush last year and haven't looked back. My Hahn's macaw's feathers have never looked better.
