TIL about green cheek conure lifespan and I'm shook
I knew parrots lived long but I just looked up actual documented lifespans and some umbrella cockatoo have lived over 40 years in captivity. My Zazu could outlive me. Has anyone here actually thought about a plan for their bird if something happens to them? This just got real.
I went through this exact thing with my lovebird Basil! It lasted about about a month and then resolved on its own. Hang in there.
Is this a new behavior or has it always been like this? Context might help figure it out.
100% this. Wish I'd known this when I first got my bird.
LOVE this post! More of this energy please. The bird community needs more positive threads like this.
I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to a subtle environmental change you might not even notice.
Okay but counterpoint β what about birds that are the complete opposite? My umbrella cockatoo breaks every rule lol.
Following up on my earlier comment β I tried what you suggested and it actually worked! My lineolated parakeet is doing so much better. Thank you!
One thing that really helped was playing calming bird sounds from YouTube during the day. Give it a try β can't hurt!
