What pellets are you feeding and where do you buy them? I'm in Milton and Harrison's is hard to find locally. Looking for good quality brands available in Canadian stores or with reasonable shipping.

Welcome to the club! My Hahn's macaw trained ME in the first week. They're way smarter than they let on.

Couldn't agree more. This has been my experience as well.

Have you tried stuffing paper towel rolls with treats for foraging? That's what solved this issue for us. Game changer honestly.

I've done a ton of research on this because my Indian Ringneck had the same issue. Here's what I learned: the most common cause is the cage being in a high-traffic or drafty location. What worked for us was putting treats inside paper cups, folded paper, or tissue for foraging. I also started joining an online support group for blue and gold macaw owners and noticed improvement within a week. It's a process but it gets better.

My vet in Scarborough suggested using a shower perch so they can bathe with warm mist and I noticed a change within the first week. Highly recommend.

Update: took everyone's advice and things are improving. Ruby is slowly coming around. This forum is the best.

Exactly my thoughts. You said it better than I could have.
