Hey everyone! I'm from Oshawa and I just brought home my first bird ever — a Pionus named Rio. I'm equal parts excited and terrified. Been reading everything I can find online but there's so much conflicting info. Any beginner tips from experienced owners would be amazing! Looking forward to being part of this community.

I remember when my Senegal parrot went through this phase. I was so worried but my vet said it's actually really common.

Do you have other pets in the home? My Quaker parrot started acting differently when we got a cat.

Oh man, this brings back memories. When we were dealing with this with Snowball, I thought we'd never get through it. Now it's just a funny memory. It gets better, I promise.

Been thinking about this thread all week. I've tried a few of the suggestions and covering the cage partially at night for 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep was the game changer for us.

I switched to Harrison's pellets last year and haven't looked back. My parrotlet's feathers have never looked better.
