Things I say to my blue and gold macaw that would concern a therapist

'Who's the prettiest baby in the world? You are!' 'Don't eat that, it's my lunch.' 'Why are you like this?' 'I love you more than most humans.' 'Please stop screaming, the neighbours are going to call someone.' Just normal bird owner things right? RIGHT?

Totally agree with this! My Hahn's macaw is exactly the same way.

Did this start suddenly or was it gradual? When my sun conure did this it turned out to be not enough quality sleep — they need 10-12 hours uninterrupted.

Oh my bird did this for about about 10 days and I tried everything. Honestly, time was the biggest factor. They just grew out of it.

So what I ended up doing was positive reinforcement with their favorite treat every time they do the right thing. Within a few days there was a noticeable improvement. Definitely worth trying.

Hang in there! It gets better. My green cheek conure went through this too.
