TIL about caique lifespan and I'm shook
I knew parrots lived long but I just looked up actual documented lifespans and some green cheek conure have lived over 40 years in captivity. My Coco could outlive me. Has anyone here actually thought about a plan for their bird if something happens to them? This just got real.
I actually disagree with this. In my experience with my sun conure, the opposite was true. But I know every bird is different.
Following up on my earlier comment β I tried what you suggested and it actually worked! My cockatiel is doing so much better. Thank you!
Great question! So in my experience with budgie, this usually comes down to a few things. First, switching to stainless steel water bowls and changing water twice daily. Second, make sure they're getting enough sleep β 12 hours of uninterrupted dark sleep is crucial. And third, pay attention to the cage being in a high-traffic or drafty location because that was a huge factor for my Echo. Hope that helps!
I actually disagree with this. In my experience with my canary, the opposite was true. But I know every bird is different.
