Spring hormonal season is HERE and my budgie is unhinged
The longer days have triggered full hormonal mode in my Amazon parrot. Jasper is being territorial, regurgitating on everything, and screaming more than usual. I know it passes but MAN it's exhausting. What are your strategies for managing hormonal season?
My Skittles went through a phase like this around 5 years. I was terrified but it passed. Birds are weird sometimes lol.
There's a great bird supply store in downtown Toronto that carries exactly what you need. I go there all the time.
I went through this exact thing with my budgie Clover! It lasted about about 10 days and then resolved on its own. Hang in there.
Okay but counterpoint β what about birds that are the complete opposite? My Indian Ringneck breaks every rule lol.
Interesting take! I see your point but I've had a completely different experience. My blue and gold macaw actually...
Totally normal, don't stress! Birds go through phases just like any other pet.
It took me a while to figure this out with my bird too. Don't be too hard on yourself β you're learning!
