Hello! Been lurking on this forum for a bit and finally decided to make an account and participate. I've had my blue and gold macaw Zazu for about 7 years now. Always nice to connect with other bird people in the GTA — most people I know think I'm crazy for having a bird lol. Excited to be here!

Welcome! I remember being a new bird owner and this kind of community helped SO much. Excited to have you!

I switched to Zupreem last year and haven't looked back. My African Grey's feathers have never looked better.

LOVE this post! More of this energy please. The bird community needs more positive threads like this.

I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to not enough quality sleep — they need 10-12 hours uninterrupted.

Reading this hit home. My parrotlet went through the same phase around the same age. What helped us was playing music during the day — my bird loves calm acoustic guitar. Also just accepting that birds are gonna bird, you know?

I got mine from Ren's Pets in Liberty Village. Great selection and the staff actually knows about birds.

Reading this hit home. My caique went through the same phase around the same age. What helped us was spending at minimum 2 hours of supervised out-of-cage time daily. Also just accepting that birds are gonna bird, you know?
