Been thinking about adopting a rescue instead of buying from a breeder. Any experiences with rescue birds in Ontario? What should I expect in terms of behavioral challenges? Which rescue organizations do you recommend?

One thing that really helped was offering chop first thing in the morning when they're hungriest. Give it a try β€” can't hurt!

How old is your bird? That might explain it β€” my green cheek conure went through something similar around 18 months.

Did this start suddenly or was it gradual? When my Senegal parrot did this it turned out to be dry winter air from forced-air heating.
