Clicker training a lineolated parakeet — week 1 progress

Started clicker training Coco this week and I'm amazed. Day 1: confused. Day 3: clicked the connection between click and treat. Day 5: touching the target stick reliably. Day 7: stepping up on command. This is genuinely incredible. Anyone else clicker train their birds?

Dealt with this for months. What finally worked was changing how I approach the cage and just being really patient. They come around eventually.

So what I ended up doing was adding a full-spectrum Arcadia UV light near the cage. Within a few days there was a noticeable improvement. Definitely worth trying.

My Fig went through a phase like this around 3 years. I was terrified but it passed. Birds are weird sometimes lol.
