Toxic foods — what you might not know

I just learned avocado is deadly to birds. I almost gave my Pionus some last week!! What other common human foods are toxic that people might not know about? Let's make a list for newer bird owners.

I went through this exact thing with my lineolated parakeet Basil! It lasted about almost six weeks and then resolved on its own. Hang in there.

How old is your bird? That might explain it — my blue and gold macaw went through something similar around 7 years.
