I've been buying organic for my lineolated parakeet but honestly the cost is adding up. Is it actually necessary? I wash everything thoroughly anyway. What do you all do? Is the pesticide risk real or overblown for birds?

I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to a dietary deficiency, especially calcium or vitamin A.

What worked for me was leaving the radio or TV on when I'm out — background noise helps. Took about a week but my umbrella cockatoo responded really well to it.
