New here! Just got my first umbrella cockatoo
Hey everyone! I'm from Guelph and I just brought home my first bird ever — a Hahn's macaw named Tiki. I'm equal parts excited and terrified. Been reading everything I can find online but there's so much conflicting info. Any beginner tips from experienced owners would be amazing! Looking forward to being part of this community.
Hey welcome! You'll love this community. Feel free to ask anything, everyone here is super helpful!
Welcome to the forum! Great to have another bird lover from the GTA. Your Amazon parrot sounds adorable — what's their personality like?
Welcome! I remember being a new bird owner and this kind of community helped SO much. Excited to have you!
Have you reached out to Bird Sitting Toronto? They really know their stuff when it comes to bird care.
Second vote for BST. They boarded my canary last summer and I could tell Fig was well cared for when I picked them up. Total peace of mind.
Oh my bird did this for about about a month and I tried everything. Honestly, time was the biggest factor. They just grew out of it.
My Basil read this post over my shoulder and started nodding. I'm only slightly concerned.
I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to jealousy of a new person, pet, or even object in the home.
