Posted a few weeks ago about Gizmo needing surgery. Just wanted to update everyone — the surgery went well and Clover is recovering at home! The vet in Hamilton was incredible. Thank you all for the support and good vibes. This community is the best.

A friend who's had birds for 20 years told me to try putting a bird lamp on a 12/12 timer to simulate natural daylight cycles. I was skeptical but it actually worked.

Oh man, this brings back memories. When we were dealing with this with Poppy, I thought we'd never get through it. Now it's just a funny memory. It gets better, I promise.

My advice would be clicker training for 10-15 minutes a day. Went through the same thing with my Pionus last year.

Update: took everyone's advice and things are improving. Captain is slowly coming around. This forum is the best.

Have you noticed any other changes? When my blue and gold macaw did this they were also being unusually clingy.
