My Eclectus finally ate vegetables willingly!!!
I literally cried. After about 10 days of patient work, Maple finally flew to me from across the room today. I know it sounds small but if you've been through the bonding process with a nervous bird you know how HUGE this is. Never give up, it's so worth it.
One thing that really helped was switching from seed to Harrison's pellets gradually over 2 weeks. Give it a try β can't hurt!
Great question! So in my experience with Pionus, this usually comes down to a few things. First, target training first, then building up to step-up. Second, make sure they're getting enough sleep β 12 hours of uninterrupted dark sleep is crucial. And third, pay attention to the cage being in a high-traffic or drafty location because that was a huge factor for my Raja. Hope that helps!
This!! So much this. Saving this post to show my partner.
