I'll go first. My blue and gold macaw Zazu: chaotic, cuddly, LOUD. Your turn! Let's see if we can spot personality patterns by species. I have a theory that all African Grey share the same brain cell.

Great question! So in my experience with Indian Ringneck, this usually comes down to a few things. First, target training first, then building up to step-up. Second, make sure they're getting enough sleep β€” 12 hours of uninterrupted dark sleep is crucial. And third, pay attention to stress from loud noises like construction because that was a huge factor for my Zazu. Hope that helps!

Great question! So in my experience with Senegal parrot, this usually comes down to a few things. First, positive reinforcement with their favorite treat every time they do the right thing. Second, make sure they're getting enough sleep β€” 12 hours of uninterrupted dark sleep is crucial. And third, pay attention to the cage being in a high-traffic or drafty location because that was a huge factor for my Luna. Hope that helps!

Revisiting this thread because I have more info now. After talking to my vet, they confirmed exactly what people here said. This community knows their stuff.

BST in Mississauga took such good care of my bird. Best bird sitting service in the GTA by far.

What does their diet look like? Sometimes these things are diet-related.

I have a similar story. My caique used to do the exact same thing. I remember being SO frustrated until one day it just clicked. Patience is truly the key with birds.
