Looking for a good avian vet near downtown Toronto. My regular vet doesn't seem super comfortable with birds and I want someone who actually specializes. Bonus if they do home visits!

I used to think the same thing until my Hahn's macaw proved me wrong. Now I'm firmly in the other camp.

This reminds me of when I first got Storm. I was so overwhelmed but looking back, those early days were actually really special. The bond building phase is tough but beautiful.

I've done a ton of research on this because my parrotlet had the same issue. Here's what I learned: the most common cause is the cage being in a high-traffic or drafty location. What worked for us was playing music during the day β€” my bird loves calm acoustic guitar. I also started joining an online support group for sun conure owners and noticed improvement within a week. It's a process but it gets better.

I actually disagree with this. In my experience with my budgie, the opposite was true. But I know every bird is different.

Don't worry, this is super common with cockatiel. You're doing great!

Is this a new behavior or has it always been like this? Context might help figure it out.

YES! This is exactly what I needed to read today. My Hahn's macaw and I have been going through the same thing!

Did this start suddenly or was it gradual? When my zebra finch did this it turned out to be molting β€” they get uncomfortable and cranky.

My vet in the Beaches suggested switching from seed to Harrison's pellets gradually over 2 weeks and I noticed a change within the first week. Highly recommend.
