Literally everything. New toy? Terrified. New perch? Hides in corner. Even wore a new hat and they had a meltdown. Is this normal umbrella cockatoo behavior or is my bird extra anxious?

Anyone near Brampton should check out the bird section at Amazon Canada — surprisingly good for the area.

YES! This is exactly what I needed to read today. My parrotlet and I have been going through the same thing!

I got mine from Pet Valu in Scarborough. Great selection and the staff actually knows about birds.

Oh man, this brings back memories. When we were dealing with this with Maple, I thought we'd never get through it. Now it's just a funny memory. It gets better, I promise.

I've tried a bunch of brands and Goldenfeast is hands down the best value. My Bean devours it.

Great question! So in my experience with green cheek conure, this usually comes down to a few things. First, target training first, then building up to step-up. Second, make sure they're getting enough sleep — 12 hours of uninterrupted dark sleep is crucial. And third, pay attention to dry winter air from forced-air heating because that was a huge factor for my Captain. Hope that helps!
