Clipped wings vs flighted — where do you stand?
I know this is one of the most divisive topics in the bird community. My canary is fully flighted and I wouldn't have it any other way, but I understand why some people clip. Let's have a respectful discussion — what's your stance and why?
So I had this exact problem about a year ago. Let me share what I learned. The key thing is adding a full-spectrum Arcadia UV light near the cage. A lot of people also recommend giving warm food (like a warmed mash) on cold Toronto mornings. My avian vet in Markham also suggested checking for hormonal season — spring is brutal which can sometimes be an underlying factor. Good luck — feel free to DM me if you have questions!
I respectfully disagree. I think it depends heavily on the individual bird. My Mochi is the total opposite.
Couldn't agree more. This has been my experience as well.
