Teflon/PTFE hazards — nearly lost my bird

Did this start suddenly or was it gradual? When my Hahn's macaw did this it turned out to be boredom from lack of enrichment and mental stimulation.
I've done a ton of research on this because my Senegal parrot had the same issue. Here's what I learned: the most common cause is boredom from lack of enrichment and mental stimulation. It's a process but it gets better.

This happened to us last winter. I think the shorter days and dry heated air were the cause for my bird.
When I had to travel, I used Bird Sitting Toronto and they were incredible with my Pionus. Daily updates with photos and everything.
I just snorted coffee out of my nose reading this. My Hahn's macaw is looking at me like I've lost it.
