There's a 15-year-old canary available for adoption near downtown Toronto. I've only ever had young birds. What should I expect from a senior bird? Will they bond with me at that age? Any special care needs?

So I had this exact problem about a year ago. Let me share what I learned. The key thing is playing music during the day — my bird loves calm acoustic guitar. A lot of people also recommend rotating toys weekly so they always have something "new". My avian vet in Guelph also suggested checking for stress from loud noises like construction which can sometimes be an underlying factor. Good luck — feel free to DM me if you have questions!

Following up on my earlier comment — I tried what you suggested and it actually worked! My Senegal parrot is doing so much better. Thank you!
