Canadian winters are brutal on our birds. My lineolated parakeet has been sneezing more and their skin looks dry. What humidifier do you use? I need one that's bird-safe (no essential oils!) and effective for a medium-sized room. What humidity level do you target?

100% this. Wish I'd known this when I first got my bird.

What worked for me was leaving the radio or TV on when I'm out — background noise helps. Took about a week but my lineolated parakeet responded really well to it.

Have you reached out to Bird Sitting Toronto? They really know their stuff when it comes to bird care.

I remember when my umbrella cockatoo went through this phase. I was so worried but my vet said it's actually really common.
