Breeders vs rescues — an honest conversation
I see a lot of judgment when someone buys from a breeder vs adopts. I got my cockatiel from a reputable breeder and I also volunteer at a rescue. Both have their place. Can we have a non-judgmental discussion about the pros and cons of each?
Lol my Pionus does the exact same thing. I've just accepted that the bird runs the house now. I'm just the food delivery service.
I respectfully disagree. I think it depends heavily on the individual bird. My Pickle is the total opposite.
Following up on my earlier comment — I tried what you suggested and it actually worked! My Pionus is doing so much better. Thank you!
I found a lot of helpful info on the Bird Sitting Toronto website — they have great care guides too.
I got mine from an avian specialty store in Scarborough. Great selection and the staff actually knows about birds.
I have a similar story. My Indian Ringneck used to do the exact same thing. I remember being SO frustrated until one day it just clicked. Patience is truly the key with birds.
If you're near Liberty Village, PetSmart on Kennedy Rd actually has a decent bird section. Better than most locations.
