Water — tap vs filtered vs bottled?

What water do you give your birds? I've been using Toronto tap water (which is generally good) but now I'm second-guessing myself. Is filtered necessary? Distilled? Spring water? Am I overthinking this?

Reading this hit home. My Indian Ringneck went through the same phase around the same age. What helped us was spending at minimum 2 hours of supervised out-of-cage time daily. Also just accepting that birds are gonna bird, you know?

I could have written this post a year ago. Same situation, same frustration. Here's what I wish someone had told me: covering the cage partially at night for 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Would have saved me weeks of stress.

So what I ended up doing was keeping a super consistent daily routine — birds thrive on predictability. Within a few days there was a noticeable improvement. Definitely worth trying.
