Things I say to my cockatiel that would concern a therapist
'Who's the prettiest baby in the world? You are!' 'Don't eat that, it's my lunch.' 'Why are you like this?' 'I love you more than most humans.' 'Please stop screaming, the neighbours are going to call someone.' Just normal bird owner things right? RIGHT?
So I had this exact problem about a year ago. Let me share what I learned. The key thing is getting natural java wood perches from a specialty bird store. A lot of people also recommend joining an online support group for Indian Ringneck owners. My avian vet in Ajax also suggested checking for hormonal season β spring is brutal which can sometimes be an underlying factor. Good luck β feel free to DM me if you have questions!
Update: took everyone's advice and things are improving. Sunny is slowly coming around. This forum is the best.
Following up on my earlier comment β I tried what you suggested and it actually worked! My African Grey is doing so much better. Thank you!
I know how stressful this can be. Just know you're not alone and most of us have been through something similar.
