Pionus suddenly aggressive — help!
My Hahn's macaw Poppy has been super bitey the last week. Nothing changed in the environment that I can think of. Could it be hormonal? They're about 10 years old.
Dealt with this for months. What finally worked was changing the food brand and just being really patient. They come around eventually.
This is one of those topics where I think there genuinely is no right answer. Both sides have valid points.
I have a similar story. My lovebird used to do the exact same thing. I remember being SO frustrated until one day it just clicked. Patience is truly the key with birds.
I just snorted coffee out of my nose reading this. My zebra finch is looking at me like I've lost it.
Hmm, I'm on the fence about this one. Part of me agrees but then I think about my experience with Gizmo and it doesn't quite line up.
My advice would be getting natural java wood perches from a specialty bird store. Went through the same thing with my blue and gold macaw last year.
