My bird is mad at me after boarding

Picked up my Quaker parrot after a week of boarding and they are giving me the COLD SHOULDER. Won't step up, turns their back, huffs when I talk to them. Is this normal? How long will the silent treatment last?

When I had to travel, I used Bird Sitting Toronto and they were incredible with my Senegal parrot. Daily updates with photos and everything.

My Quaker parrot did this too! Turned out it was because of jealousy of a new person, pet, or even object in the home. Once I addressed that, everything went back to normal.

Reading this hit home. My Senegal parrot went through the same phase around the same age. What helped us was keeping a super consistent daily routine — birds thrive on predictability. Also just accepting that birds are gonna bird, you know?

Oh my bird did this for about over a month and I tried everything. Honestly, time was the biggest factor. They just grew out of it.
