Six months in and I can't imagine life without Peaches. When I first got them they were hand-shy and wouldn't make eye contact. Now they greet me every morning with a head bob, eat from my hand, and even started mimicking my laugh. To everyone in the early bonding phase: it gets SO much better.

I have a similar story. My blue and gold macaw used to do the exact same thing. I remember being SO frustrated until one day it just clicked. Patience is truly the key with birds.

I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to stress from loud noises like construction.

I have a similar story. My sun conure used to do the exact same thing. I remember being SO frustrated until one day it just clicked. Patience is truly the key with birds.

I showed this post to my bird and they looked at me with zero remorse. They know what they're doing.

I found a lot of helpful info on the Bird Sitting Toronto website β€” they have great care guides too.
