Safe temperature range for birds in Canadian winters

With Toronto weather swinging wildly, what temperature do you keep your bird room at? My African Grey seems uncomfortable. Also, is the dry air from forced-air heating a concern? Should I get a humidifier?

Dealt with this for months. What finally worked was changing how I approach the cage and just being really patient. They come around eventually.

I struggled with this too until I started leaving the radio or TV on when I'm out — background noise helps. Now it's like a completely different bird.
