Finally invested in a proper HEPA air purifier for the bird room (NOT an ionizer β€” those are dangerous for birds). The difference in air quality is insane. Way less dust on surfaces, I'm sneezing less, and my Amazon parrot seems to be breathing easier too. If you have a dusty species, this is a must-buy.

This made my day honestly. lovebird owners are the best people. We're all just trying our best for our feathered kids.

I actually disagree with this. In my experience with my Indian Ringneck, the opposite was true. But I know every bird is different.

So I had this exact problem about a year ago. Let me share what I learned. The key thing is getting a kitchen scale and weighing them weekly to track health. A lot of people also recommend rotating toys weekly so they always have something "new". My avian vet in downtown Toronto also suggested checking for stress from loud noises like construction which can sometimes be an underlying factor. Good luck β€” feel free to DM me if you have questions!
