I have a single parrotlet and I'm home most of the day but I still feel guilty when I need to leave. Do they get lonely? Would getting a second bird help or just cause drama?

I've had birds for 15 years and I've seen this many times. In my experience it usually comes down to boredom from lack of enrichment and mental stimulation.
